Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Habit Tycoon ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

2. Description of Service

Habit Tycoon is a gamified habit-tracking app where you build virtual "businesses" by completing real-life habits, earn in-game currency, and unlock achievements and social features. It's meant to help you build habits. It isn't professional medical, financial, or therapeutic advice, and its in-game stock market and 401(k) are a game, not real investments.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use Habit Tycoon. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Please provide accurate information when creating your account.

4. Habit Tycoon Membership (Subscription)

Using Habit Tycoon requires an active Habit Tycoon Membership, an auto-renewable subscription available monthly or yearly. Current prices are shown in the App before you subscribe and may vary by country.

• Free trial. Eligible new subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your membership starts automatically and you're charged the price of the plan you chose. Each Apple ID can use the free trial once.
• Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm your purchase, or when your free trial ends.
• Automatic renewal. Your membership renews automatically at the same price and for the same length (one month or one year) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancelling. You can manage or cancel your membership at any time in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Changes. We may change membership prices. Apple will notify you of any price increase and, where required, ask for your consent before it applies.

We may give some accounts free access at our discretion, for example accounts created before memberships launched.

5. Virtual Currency

The App's in-game cash, businesses, stocks, and items have no real-world monetary value. They can't be bought with real money, exchanged for cash, or transferred outside the App.

6. Social Features & User Conduct

When using friends, posts, and challenges, you agree not to harass anyone, impersonate anyone, or share content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes on others' rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

7. User Content

Feedback, posts, and other content you submit remain yours, but you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use it to operate, improve, and promote the App.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, graphics, and code, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it without our permission.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account doesn't cancel your membership; cancel it in your iPhone's Settings as described above.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

12. Apple App Store Terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you also agree to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the App or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and isn't responsible for any claims relating to the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the effective date above, and continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
